TWRA Boat Safety Course To Be Offered in January

The Memphis Sail and Power Squadron, America’s Boating Club will be offering the TWRA Boating Education Class and Test in January. This course, open to anyone age 12 or older, will be given by our certified instructors John Haluska and Gary Wildman. The cost of the course is $10. Class size is limited. Any Tennessee resident born after January 1, 1989 must show the TWRA-issued wallet Boating Safety Education Certificate as proof of successful completion of the TWRA Boating Safety exam. No other certificate will be accepted as meeting the requirements of the law. For out-of-staters if you were born after January 1, 1989 TWRA will accept any NASBLA approved boating safety certificate. Attendees will be need to bring a Type 600 Exam Permit (purchased from any place that sells hunting/fishing license i.s. Walmart or Bass Pro). The permit cost is $10.

It has been an interesting year for many of us and I look forward to spending more time on the water this summer. I just completed my second and hopefully last surgery last week, this time to repair a bad disc in my neck and so far so good.
