Goals 2018: Education, Education, Education

Fall is in the air, boats are being taken out for one last spin on the lake or being winterized and put up in storage. Time to look back and appreciate all we have accomplished and time to look forward to what we want to do next year.

November 13th will be our first regular meeting since the end of our outdoor activities. This will be an opportune time for the members to give their input on the direction that they would like the club to take; educational or social or a good mixture of both. In order to accomplish these goals we need to start with the Nominating Committee’s task of getting a slate of officers for the 2019/20 Bridge. time for all members to reflect on what this club means to them, what it has to offer and what they would like to offer to the club. Everyone has a talent, everyone has time; some more than others. Everyone can contribute to keeping this club something special.

December, (am I really writing this) is just around the corner and time to save the date of December 8th for our annual Christmas Party! Good times, good food and good friends!

John and I are off to the lake hoping our boat’s bottom paint job is completed and dried. We are looking forward to taking in the fall colors reflecting on beautiful Pickwick Lake.

Fair winds and following seas,

Goals for 2017:

Provide: Education Promote: Fellowship Prosper: (increase membership)

It is hard to believe that we are entering the last quarter of 2017!  It seems like just yesterday that we were enjoying the cookout and our record breaking auction at the Blackburns, cruising to Florence AL for the WC Handy Music Festival and sharing in the once in our lifetime Solar Eclipse event at the Land Between the Lakes, Grand Junction, KY.  Our September 23rd raft-up on Pickwick Lake will bring our summer events to a close.

In October we will resume our 2nd Tuesday of the month dinner meetings, so mark your calendar for October 10th, 6:30 PM at the Butcher Shop.  Our guest speaker, Lanny Oakes, will be talking on his vacation/trip to Cuba.  A timely topic for those interested in visiting this island.

John White and I will be representing our squadron at the District 17 Fall Conference, Johnson City, TN and reporting back to you at the October meeting.  We were given a heads up that there will be a lot of news/changes from the Annual Governors Meeting in Dallas.

Speaking of news and changes, check out the new tagline that will be used (more details at the October meeting).  “WE ARE AMERICA’S BOATING CLUB”

Looking forward to seeing you all i October!
